Good pizza names look right on a box and are easy to find on a delivery app: a family name (Romano & Sons Pizzeria), proper Italian (Il Forno di Nunzia) or a pun (Cheese Louise Pizza Co.). This pizza business name generator gives you names for a pizzeria, pizza shop or pizza truck in eight styles, from punny to proper Italian, including ones built from your town or your own name.
Eight good pizza names
All eight came from the generator:
- Cheese Louise Pizza Co.: a pun with a name in it, easy to remember.
- One More Slice: what every customer says, as a name.
- Romano & Sons Pizzeria: the classic family pizzeria pattern.
- Crust & Embers: two words for a wood-fired oven.
- Blister Pizza Co.: named after the charred bubbles on a good crust.
- Il Forno di Nunzia: Italian for "Nunzia's oven".
- The Wandering Pizza Bus: a van name with a story in it.
- Sarah's Pizza Shed: your name and a homely place, for a garden or market stall pizza oven.
How pizza names work
- Pizzeria is the Italian word for a pizza shop, and forno means oven: Il Forno is "the oven".
- Family names like Rossi & Sons or Da Tonino ("at Tonino's") follow how real Italian pizzerias are often named.
- Sourdough and wood-fired places suit short modern names about fire, flour and char.
- Takeaways and vans can be punny, because people choose them from an app or a queue.
Choose Italian for names that use the words correctly, and Van for names that suit a converted bus or horsebox.
Check it's free before you print the sign
A name from a generator is a starting point, not permission to use it. Before you order the boxes, sign or van livery:
- Company register. In the UK, search Companies House; you can't register a limited company with the same name as an existing one. In the US, search your state's business register.
- Trade marks. Search the UK trade mark register (or the USPTO in the US) for the goods and services you'll sell.
- Domain and handles. Check the .co.uk or .com and the Instagram and TikTok handles you'll need.
- Your area. Search a map app and the delivery apps for businesses with the same or a similar name nearby.
Press Check on any name, or use the Business Name Checker, to run most of these at once. For the full process, read our guide, Business Naming Best Practices. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
In the UK, any food business must register with the local council at least 28 days before it starts trading. Registration is free, and the council will inspect you and give you a food hygiene rating.
Tips for pizza businesses
Delivery apps sort by name and photo, so test how your name looks as a small tile next to the big chains. Avoid anything close to a national chain's name, which will be a trade mark.
