How to make random teams

Add everyone, choose the number of teams or the team size, and press Make teams.

Add names. One per line: a class list, a five-a-side squad or a pub quiz crowd.
Choose how to split. Pick a number of teams, or how many people you want in each team.
Make teams. Names are shuffled, then dealt out one at a time like cards, so team sizes never differ by more than one.
Copy or reshuffle. "Copy teams" gives you a list to paste anywhere; "Shuffle again" makes new teams.

Are the teams even?

As even as the numbers allow: team sizes never differ by more than one. With 10 people in 3 teams, you get teams of 4, 3 and 3.

Can I choose the team size instead?

Yes. Choose "People per team" and the generator works out how many teams you need.

Are the teams random?

Yes. The list is shuffled with your browser's secure random number generator before the names are dealt out.

Do you keep my list?

No. It's saved in your own browser only. A share link carries the names, and your setting, inside the link itself.
