World-Building
Names for every corner of a fantasy world: kingdoms, continents, castles, forests, rivers, dungeons and the cities of elves and dwarves.
A fantasy map is easiest to name from the outside in. Start with the world and its continents, divide them into kingdoms and empires, scatter islands off the coast, then fill the land with villages, castles and the dungeons beneath them.
Each generator follows the way real places get their names: a feature of the land, the people who live there, or an old word that has worn smooth with use. Most have fantasy, medieval, elven and dwarven styles, and several can add a line of history or a hook for your next session.
For the towns and cities on the map, see the Fantasy Town, Fantasy City and Fantasy Country generators. To fill them with people, the D&D name generators have every race and class.
