Daedric weapons are black, red-veined and slightly alive, and their names should sound like a bargain you'll regret. This Daedric weapon name generator makes new names for Elder Scrolls characters, mods and roleplay, with a weapon type or a title, and leaves the real artefacts of the games alone.
What makes a weapon Daedric
In The Elder Scrolls games the Daedra are the beings of Oblivion, and Daedric weapons are their black, red-edged arms. In Skyrim they're the strongest ordinary weapons you can forge: you need an ebony ingot and a daedra heart, and the Daedric Smithing perk, which needs a Smithing skill of 90. The best-known Daedric items are the artefacts given by the Daedric Princes, each unique and named.
This generator makes new names in that style. They're never the name of a real artefact, so your character's weapon won't be mistaken for one from the games:
- Name only: a hard, short name like Rakmar or one with an apostrophe like Bal'gagoth.
- With its weapon type: Bal'zarex, a Daedric warhammer.
- With a title that sounds like a bargain made with a Daedric Prince: Korion, the Last Bargain, Ulkesh, the Patient Thirst.
Naming a weapon in Skyrim
You can rename a weapon in Skyrim without mods: enchant it at an Arcane Enchanter and the game lets you type a new name before you craft. Mod authors and roleplayers can use these names for new weapons, fan fiction and tabletop games set in Tamriel.
This site isn't connected to Bethesda or The Elder Scrolls; the names are made up and free to use. For the warrior holding the blade, try the Nord Name Generator or the Dunmer Name Generator, and for any other blade the Sword Name Generator.
