How property managers are named
Landlords, residents and leaseholders want someone dependable who answers the phone, so names lean on surnames, places, building words (lintel, quoin, gable) and phrases about upkeep. If you specialise, say so: "Lettings" for UK rentals, "Block Management" for flats, "HOA Management" in the US, "Stays" for holiday lets.
Rules to know: in the UK, letting agents and property managers must belong to a government-approved redress scheme, and in England they must also belong to a client money protection (CMP) scheme if they hold client money. "Chartered Surveyors" and "RICS" are for RICS-regulated firms only. In the US, "Realtor" is a trade mark of the National Association of Realtors, and many states require a real estate broker's licence to manage rentals for others.

Every name here has a Check button. Press it before you order business cards, and run through these yourself:
- The company register: Companies House in the UK, or your state's business register in the US.
- Trade marks: search the UK IPO or USPTO for the same or a similar name in your field.
- Domains and handles: a matching .co.uk or .com, and the same handle on the platforms your clients use.
- Booking sites: keep clear of names like Airbnb in your business name, even if you list there.
