Good trucking company names are short enough to read on a moving truck and easy to say to a dispatcher: a family name (Pearce & Sons Transport), initials (N&S Freight) or a road word (Milepost Trucking). Name your business with this Trucking Company Name Generator: for owner-operators, haulage firms, logistics companies and hotshot or box truck businesses. Pick a style and kind of work, or add your first name or town.
Eight good trucking company names
All eight came from the generator:
- Pearce & Sons Transport: the classic family-firm name, painted on cab doors for generations.
- N&S Freight: initials are short, easy to letter and easy to say on the radio.
- Milepost Trucking: a road word that makes a clean logo.
- Gearbox Haulage: short, mechanical and British-sounding.
- Dawn Run Transport Co.: suggests early starts and on-time deliveries.
- Ten Four Transport: CB radio slang for "message received".
- Wheel Be There Haulage: a pun that also makes a promise.
- Hampton & District Transport: a local name for a firm that serves its area.
Trucking, haulage or logistics?
The words carry a country with them. "Trucking" and "Freight Lines" sound American; "Haulage" and "Carriers" sound British; "Transport", "Freight" and "Logistics" work in both. "Logistics" suggests you organise movement and storage as well as drive. Choose the kind of work to get the right words: Trucking (US), Haulage (UK), Logistics and freight, or Hotshot and box truck.
Rules that affect your name: in the US, a carrier operating under a USDOT number must show its legal name or a single trade name and its USDOT number on both sides of the vehicle, so decide on the name before you register. In the UK, operating goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes for business needs an operator's licence (O-licence) from the Traffic Commissioner, in the business's name.

Every name here has a Check button. Press it before you order business cards, and run through these yourself:
- The company register: Companies House in the UK, or your state's business register in the US.
- Trade marks: search the UK IPO or USPTO for the same or a similar name in your field.
- Domains and handles: a matching .co.uk or .com, and the same handle on the platforms your clients use.
- Big carriers and makers: keep clear of the names of large hauliers, parcel firms and truck manufacturers, and of "Royal Mail" and "Post Office".
