Good skincare brand names are short, look clean on a small label, and hint at what the product feels like or is made from: Balm & Bloom, The Beeswax Apothecary, Studio Retinol. The Skincare Brand Name Generator suggests names for a skincare (or skin care) brand, body care line or small-batch business: catchy, cute, modern, luxury, aesthetic, natural and botanical, your town or your own name.
Eight good skincare brand names
All eight came from the generator:
- Balm & Bloom: soft alliteration that suits a gentle range.
- Clean Slate Skin: a catchy promise in three short words.
- Studio Retinol: modern and science-led, named after an active ingredient.
- Pearl Botanicals: a luxury name with plants in it.
- No. 9 Apothecary: a numbered name that looks good on a small bottle.
- Dewdrop Skin: cute and easy to remember.
- Oat & Elderflower Naturals: two real ingredients, so customers know what's inside.
- Sage Skin Goods: an aesthetic name with a calm colour in it.
How skincare names work
- Ingredient names say what's in the jar: The Beeswax Apothecary, Camellia Skin Kitchen. Only name an ingredient the product really contains.
- Science names use lab and formula words: Formula Labs, Serum Lab Skin Co.
- Luxury names use a number, a pearl or "atelier": No. 11 Skin Atelier.
- Apothecary is an old word for a pharmacist's shop, and suits small-batch, plant-based ranges.
Labels are small, so a one- or two-word name with "Skin" or "Skincare" in the descriptor line often works better than a long name.
Check it's free before you print the sign
Press Check on any name, or paste one into the Business Name Checker, to see whether the domain and social handles are free and to jump to the company register and trade mark searches. Then:
- Search the company register. In the UK that's Companies House; in the US, your state's business register.
- Search trade marks with the UK Intellectual Property Office or the USPTO, especially if you'll sell products or open more than one site.
- Look locally. Search Google Maps for skincare brands near you: a similar name a few streets away will confuse customers even if it's legally fine.
- Get the trade mark search right. Cosmetics are a crowded trade mark class, and a brand is harder to change once it's printed on stock.
- In the UK, cosmetics have their own rules. Before you sell, each product needs a UK-based Responsible Person and a safety assessment, and must be notified through the government's cosmetic product notification service.

Naming the range as well as the brand
Many small brands give each product a short name of its own (a cleanser called after a place, a balm called after a flower) under one brand name. Keep the brand name simple so the product names have room. For candles or soap to sit alongside it, try the Candle Business Name Generator and the Soap Business Name Generator; for colour cosmetics, the Makeup Brand Name Generator.
